AASECT CE Providers play a vital role in delivering high-quality education that supports professionals in earning or maintaining their AASECT Certification. Providers are approved by AASECT and are responsible for ensuring that all CE programs reflect AASECT’s ethics, guidelines, and professional standards.

CE Provider Application - Initial & Renewal

Types of AASECT CE Providers

AASECT offers three CE Provider categories to accommodate different structures and training volumes.

Individual Provider

  • Must be an AASECT Certified Member
  • Must personally present at least 80% of the training of each event.
  • A co-presenter delivers more than 20% of the total material the applicant must apply to be an Organizational Provider.

Organizational Provider I

Ideal for small organizations or training groups.

  • May be an individual, group, private training center, school, or accredited university/college
  • Must have an AASECT Certified Member overseeing training planning
  • Offers 40 or fewer AASECT CE credits per year
  • Uses more than one expert to deliver training

Organizational Provider II

Ideal for larger organizations offering extensive training.

  • Same eligibility as Organizational Provider I
  • Must have an AASECT Certified Member overseeing training planning
  • Offers more than 40 AASECT CE credits per year
  • Uses more than one expert to deliver training

Provider Approval Cycles & Deadlines

AASECT CE Providers are approved twice per year. Each approval is valid for 2 years.

Provider Responsibilities & Requirements

AASECT CE Providers must:

Include an AASECT Certified Member

An AASECT Certified Member must serve on the planning committee for all events and assume responsibility for the event guidelines and expectations.

Represent AASECT Standards Accurately

Providers must properly represent all AASECT ethics, guidelines, procedures, and standards. It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine if their state licensing board will accept AASECT CE credits.

Maintain Documentation for 7 Years

Providers must keep program materials including objectives, syllabi/outlines, evaluations, and participant rosters, for 7 years, consistent with the AASECT Code of Conduct and certification requirements. AASECT may conduct periodic reviews of CE Providers’ documents, as part of the process of evaluating training.

Comply with AASECT Policies

  • Follow the CE Provider Expectations.
  • Uphold professional and ethical standards in marketing and delivery.
  • Review the AASECT Grievance Policy. Understand that AASECT does not assume financial or legal responsibility for provider programs.

It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine whether their state licensing board accepts AASECT CE credits.
